A Look Back At Our Hawaiian Origins
Each year at this time we find ourselves beginning to daydream about faraway places and warm distant shores. The sunshine always brings back thoughts of where Connock London began – the incredibly beautiful Hawaiian Islands.
Our founder Amanda Connock’s fascination with blending fragrances was inspired by her Dad’s travels to all corners of the globe to seek out unusual, exotic and innovative natural ingredients to supply to the perfumery and cosmetics industry.
It was one such trip to Hawaii that led to their discovery of the Kukui nut and the oil contained within that has outstanding skin-conditioning properties.
Amanda remembers…“I instantly fell in love with the Hawaiian Islands – their wild and natural beauty, the warm, softly scented air and the spirit of the people. It was there that I began to understand Dad’s passion. I went with him to watch the local women shell Kukui nuts and press the oil from the kernels...”
Used for centuries by Hawaiians to keep skin soft and smooth, the oil contains very high levels of linoleic and alpha-linolenic acids (essential fatty acids). It acts as an excellent emollient, is highly penetrating and helps to improve suppleness and elasticity as well as soothing minor skin irritations.
Our Kukui Oil is sourced from a small factory on the island of Oahu and is still produced today in the same pure form as it was centuries ago. The owners of the factory are close family friends and Amanda has visited them many times over the years.
Connock London products are perfect for those who like to dream of distant lands and experience wonderful things.
Fragrance can be such a powerful way to evoke memories. We hope our products will help to summon up thoughts and dreams of summer holidays past and of those yet to come.
